From Scotland to Maine.
I'm Thomas Stirling, a Scottish-born artist, photographer and web developer based in Kennebunk, Maine. Originally from the Glasgow area, I studied multimedia design at Glasgow Caledonian University and have spent more than 20 years working in web design and development across sectors including education, automotive, technology and SaaS—designing, developing and managing major digital properties for established international brands.
My background bridges creative design and hands-on coding. From visual identity and user experience to responsive front-end development and content management, I've helped turn complex requirements into polished, practical websites. I work with technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, WordPress and Drupal, bringing the same eye for detail to a digital experience that I bring to photography and traditional art.
From photograph to film
In 2013, my photography was recognized through Canon's Project Imaginat10n, a nationwide creative initiative involving director Ron Howard. From a field of approximately 100,000 entries, my photograph was selected by Twitter co-founder Biz Stone to inspire his short film Evermore. I also have an IMDb credit connected to the film. My work has also appeared in coverage by Wired, Boston.com and NECN.
Today, I continue exploring the space between traditional art, photography and digital design. I'm a dual UK–US citizen and live on the southern Maine coast with my wife and two sons.
